Nature and us

Nature and us

There are five elements that exist throughout our world. They all express uniquely.

The five elements are:

Space

Space begins from the tips of our noses and extends far and beyond what our eyes can see. With space we have room to grow, to expand, and to listen.

Wind

Wind has a vibration. It blows cool on our skin and makes us move. We can see how wind moves life. Clouds moving in the sky and leaves being blown here and there.

Fire

Fire is the radiant sun. The sun chases away the darkness in the night. The sun gives us warmth and encourages us to transform.

Water

Water it falls from the sky and softens the earth. The oceans, rivers and streams are a bounty, which sustain life for all species, including the human race.

Earth

The earth is the solid and stable element. Earth makes structures of all kinds, including all living species. Other earth formations are mountains, trees and rocks.

Each element has a different function in nature.
Each element is found within us too!

Nature in our body, thoughts and emotions.

Space

We have space throughout our entire body. The largest place in the body with space is the colon. We need space so our digested food can be excreted out of our body.
We then have space in the womb, for the fetus to grow. In order to move around, we need space between all the joints. In our blood we have space. This space carries our food nutrition/oxygen, all around the body. The eyes, the nose, the throat, the stomach also have the element of space.
There is space also in our minds. Good space makes us alert and it helps us see the bigger picture. When we see the bigger life picture with an open mind, we can understand and accept our purpose in life.
Our emotions are affected by the space within us. If our space is unobstructed, we welcome life in. We can experience simple love.

Wind

The wind element is responsible for every beat of our hearts. Wind is a dynamic force that regulates the entire physiology of the body. It supports the nervous system every moment of every hour.
When we do actions such as walking , talking and eating we are completely dependent on the natural motion of the wind element. Wind helps us move in every direction.
Wind is the very breath that we breathe.
In our minds we need wind to help us think. We go back and forth to memories to make decisions about our past experiences. It is the subtlest of processing. Yet it is so powerful. The presence of wind governs how well we are thinking.
Our emotions are touched and moved by the element of wind. The wind in a calm state can make us feel highly inspired and excited in life.

Fire

In our body we have an internal fire that sits in the middle of our digestive tract.
The fire is our own internal stove. It cooks everything we eat, and turns into our next bodily tissue. The fire is also in our blood. Hence it keeps us warm and makes are complexion glow. Our eyes have fire. We need the light to acknowledge and interpret what we are seeing. A good fire in our hearts can help us live wisely.
In the mind the fire acts as our intellectual capacity. This element lights up our thinking and is responsible for helping us understand life. The fire makes us sharpen our minds and be focused. The fire in our emotions drives us to be ambitious, courageous and joyful.

Water

In the body the liquid element is essential to keep us fluid and soft. When the water flows through are veins, we allow for life to move through us.
Water moves the blood around the body, keeping it cool. It supports the immune system.
This moving element carries nutrition and oxygen. Water is also needed to carry food waste out of the body. Water keeps all the body parts together.
The mind is dependent on liquid in the body. As water flows and is softening, it regulates and encourages the same qualities in the thought processes. Our emotions are moved by water. For each of us our daily water intake will vary.

Earth

Our entire physical structure is the earth element. The muscle, fat tissue, bones, ligaments, immune system, reproductive system all have earthy qualities.
The earth element keeps us grounded. It supports our spiritual essence to have a worldly human life. The earth element gives us endurance and stability.
The earth element has weight, therefore makes us more stable in thinking and supports us with good memory.
Our emotions are greatly affected by the amount of earth we have in us. Earthy emotions can create compassion.
